Texas-Style Trickroping

There is probably no western art that is more beautiful and full of
history and tradition as trickroping. For centuries, the cowboys of the
plains, the mountains, and the deserts whittled away the long
western hours learning and perfecting the lariat skills that Jerry
Wayne Olson will display for your audience.

Jerry begins with the beautiful and relatively simple (you should try it!)
maneuver called the butterfly, which many more complicated
maneuvers are based upon. Soon, the tempo increases as he pops
the whirling white lariat off his arms, over his head, and around his
body so fast you do not have time to blink. The culmination of this
performance is
the most difficult lariat trick in the cowboy book. It
is the famous
Texas Skip.

Jerry spins up a man-sized vertical loop spinning at a blinding
180
RPM
. He eyes his loop, timing it with the music, and makes his leap
through the spinning spoke of the loop and through it to the other
side! Once is not enough for Jerry, so through the vertical loop he
leaps, again and again.
As the applause increases, so does the
speed
, until Jerry lets the rope fly and salutes your crowd.
